2006-Present: Sculptural installation to be permanently sited in the Waterside, Derry City in Northern Ireland, Linked Research Project and Publication. The installation comprises three steel sculptural forms (ranging from 6.4 to 10.5 m high), a land art component and a participatory research project. The participatory element of the project involves qualitative research with groups of local women. Through the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry, this linked socially engaged research has been developed to inform and contextualise the installation. The artists interviews with female shirt factory workers will be on VAC website. A publication on the entire sculptural and installation process will accompany the project.
2006-2007: Emergency Department Commission, James Hospital, Dublin. This project is centered on the development of integrated artworks in collaboration with healthcare staff. The artwork will be incorporated throughout the fabric of the building, utilizing a range of integrated furniture and equipment that protects the building from accident and harm.
Part of the project mediates and maps the triage process for patients and the public in the reception room. Both of these linked works explore the possibility of artwork actively advocating on behalf of staff in the Emergency Department.
2007 – 2009: Research Project with ResCen Middlesex University
One of six Irish artists invited to work on an international three-year research project, seeded by CREATE, partnered with Middlesex University ResCen and NCAD. The project will research and gain insight into arts practice across disciplines, and intends to facilitate dialogue and learning about practice and documentation in the contexts of the European Union and international arts policy.
